Yuri Shtapakov

Born in 1958 in Leningrad.
In 1978 he graduated from the Leningrad Construction and Architectural College. Worked as an architect, an artist - designer, graphic designer.
Since 1987 freelance artist. The founder of a group of artists "Iron Seeds. "
Member of Artists of Russia since 1993.
Founder (with P. White), St. Petersburg Printing Studios in 2002.
Since 2004 he is professor of printmaking at the Smolny College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Illustrated nearly 30 books: B. Vian, D. Harms, I. Barkov, J., RR Tolkien, etc.
Participated in many exhibitions in Russia, Poland, Germany, France, Switzerland, USA and China.
His works are in collections of the Hermitage, Russian Museum, State Public Library, the Library of Alexandria, as well as in the collections of foreign museums and private collections.
