Lembit Lyhmus (Tallinn) was born in the place Moustia, Estonia in 1947. He studied in arts school in Tartu, graduated from architectural department of Tallinn Artists Institute in 1975. He specializes in etching, xylography, but the worldwide fame was brought to him by jewelry miniatures in copper and steel engraving. He is an acknowledged master of modern bookplate and a winner of international graphics competitions.
